LEGAL DRAINAGE MAPS - In progress, check back often

In 2008 Faribault County received a Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) Drainage Records Modernization Grant, with additional funding from the Blue Earth River Clean Water Partnership.  The purpose of the project was to inventory and modernize drainage records to make the data usable, updatable, and accessible into the future.

Part of the drainage records modernization project included coverting legal ditch records into a digital GIS format.  The public can now begin to access the products of the project in the form of printable maps and an online GIS Viewer.  There are two printable maps for each drainage system, one that contains an aerial photo background and the other that contains a USGS topographic background.  These maps may be viewed, printed, or saved from the links below.  Additional GIS data can also be viewed through the interactive FARIBAULT COUNTY GIS VIEWER.

This is not a complete list of all Faribault County drainage systems.  All 111 systems are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010.

Disclaimer: Faribault County and Faribault County SWCD do not warrant or guarantee accuracy of the GIS data.  The data is meant for reference purposes only and should not be used for official decisions.  The data contained in the maps were compiled from the best available records that could be found and may contain errors or omissions.
